UX Design Manager

Overview:
As UX Manager you'll lead a team of talented UX Designers, working closely with product teams to create useful, usable, accessible and delightful customer experiences. You should be an experienced designer with a deep portfolio of work, the ability to think big picture and a talent for elevating and empowering the people on your team to make them better Designers.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Feedback & coaching

Lead design reviews and workshops

Review design deliverables for quality, consistency and technical feasibility

Recruit and cultivate talent to grow the team and expand their capabilities

Help designers on your team develop and expand their skills to progress in their career journeys
Collaboration
-
Collaborate closely with key partners in product management and engineering
-
Partner with developers to perfect digital experiences
-
Communicate with influence using your savvy communication and presentation skills
-
Leverage and contribute to the design system, collaborating with the design system team to refine and expand the system's capabilities
Product strategy
-
Understand the customer deeply, using all available data including analytics, operational data, voice of customer and usability research

Support Product Owners with insights from research and creating product roadmaps

Develop a UX vision that supports the Product vision and aligns with the Business strategy

Advocate for the role of user experience, design and research in making more data-driven decisions

Understand the product and platforms, working within the constraints and norms and maximizing the potential of the technology
Process

Align design processes of your team with the development processes of the product teams they support, making Design harmonize with Agile
-
Manage team assignments and ensure the team meets commitments and delivers high quality work
Design talent

Have a keen eye for design quality with a talent for bringing out the best in others' ideas

Have deep experience working as a designer and a quality portfolio to demonstrate it

Get hands-on with research and design using your expertise in the modern design and research toolset
Basic/Required Qualifications:
-
Bachelors’ degree in Graphic Design or Information Technology and seven (7) or more years related work experience; OR a High School/GED and eleven (11) or more years of related work experience in lieu of a degree

Experience leading a function or team
-
Experience working with Agile teams
-
Experience with modern Design toolset
-
Deep knowledge of Accessibility standards and implementation techniques

Experience with UX research techniques and methodologies
Desired Qualifications:
-
Expert in wireframing and prototyping tools and techniques and/or front end development technologies and techniques.

Expert in user interface design patterns and/or coding practices.

Familiarity with user research methodologies including usability testing, card sorting, web analytics, field studies and heuristic analysis
-
Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate with influence in large cross-functional project teams.

Ability to work within, contribute to and author design systems and style guides.
