In this role, you'll lead and conduct research efforts; create and communicate insights; and directly influence our digital products and support a team of product owners

So, What Will You Do?

  • Create and manage research strategies, timelines, and goals that influence product direction, design strategy, and design decisions.

  • Help refine, evolve and scale processes, standards, and tools for our research practice to further innovation, our design vision for connected experiences, and our Industry 4.0 future.

  • Translate complex business requirements into research plans for domestic and international audiences that have differing cultures and speak different languages.

  • Lead and execute generative and evaluative research activities, such as ethnographic research, user interviews, card sorting, usability testing, UX metrics, etc.

  • Influencing prioritization on what is researched, when to research, and how that research is conducted by working with cross-functional teams.

  • Use systems-level design thinking, leveraging past and current qualitative and quantitative data, to find opportunities to further improve the user experience and to help shape the digital experience landscape.

  • Identify, generate, and democratize insights that help drive product strategy, design strategy, and prioritization.

  • Curate and tailor research findings to present to multiple audiences at varying levels of our organization through written reports and verbal presentations.

  • Foster a customer-obsessed design culture by educating leadership and product teams, evangelizing the value of research, its best practices, and how to be critical consumers of user research.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Research Rigor: Working knowledge and expertise over a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Collaborative: Ability to work as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced, high-matrixed environment; Comfort with accepting and acting on feedback and constructive criticism.

  • Communication: Ability to communicate insights through UX deliverables; Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; Multi-lingual a plus.

  • Knowledge & Skills: A command of research principles and visual storytelling; Experience turning information and data into simple, easy to understand insights and recommendations.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience translating customer feedback into business value, communicating ideas and insights, and evangelizing user needs.

  • Work Style: A self-motivator with the ability to proactively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects with competing timelines; Enthusiasm for giving our user a voice.

What Makes You Stand Out?

  • BS in Human Factors, Information Science, UX, Sociology, Psychology or related research field strongly preferred;

  • 5+ years in applied digital product/design research and 3+ years in omnichannel research

  • Prior workshop facilitation experience.

  • Prior eCommerce experience preferred.

  • Prior experience in a global company preferred.
