Senior UX Researcher

As a member of the Inclusive Design Team, you will conduct quality assurance accessibility testing for enterprise digital properties using a combination of automated tools and manual testing (including testing with assistive technologies) to evaluate the level of conformance to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and other applicable standards and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do: 

  • Collaborate with Design and Product teams to identify research opportunities

  • Provide high-level expertise and leadership on research design, moderation, and analysis.

  • Operationalize abstract concepts, questions, and problems into actionable research plans. Lead the execution of research

  • Oversee the recruitment of participants. Devise appropriate segmentation and sampling strategies for study participants.

  • Work with vendors of research tools and services to effectively leverage third-party support as needed.

  • Generate advanced insights that influence product strategy, feature design and prioritization.

  • Inspire teams with creative and compelling presentation of your results and findings.

  • Serve as a mentor to more junior researchers on work quality, approaches, and presentation.

  • Possible occasional travel ( < 15%).

What You Bring

  • 4+ years experience in applied product/design research

  • BA/BS degree in Psychology, HCI, Social Science, etc.

  • Advanced (MS or PhD) degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience. • Expert command over a wide range of qualitative methods and quantitative concepts.

  • Proven experience and comfort building rapport with research participants.

  • Expert skills in effectively eliciting insights, observations, and commentary from participants without leading or injecting bias

  • Facility with study design principles (e.g. sampling, power, assignment, experimental control, etc.)

  • Expertise in analyzing, synthesizing and delivering/presenting research.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

  • Self-motivated, can work independently as well as in groups.


What Will Make You Stand Out

  • MS/PhD in UX, HCI, Human Factors, Psychology, Sociology, or related research field.

  • Particular familiarity with designing and running heuristic evaluations, usability studies, cognitive walk-throughs, contextual inquiries, card sorts / tree tests, A/B testing, in-depth interviews, and focus groups.

  • Strong background in descriptive and basic inferential statistics.

  • Proficiency with a stats package or analysis platform (preferably SPSS, R, or Python)

  • Experience using remote usability platforms such as UserZoom, UserTesting.com or others.

  • Experience working on fast-paced research projects and bringing products to market.

  • Knowledge of behavioral economics a plus.
